Amanda Johnstone has built one of the most recognised profiles in Australian AI, honoured by TIME as a Next Generation Leader and by The CEO Magazine with its Start-up Executive of the Year award in recognition of her work in social impact technology. In 2023, LinkedIn named her a Top Voice in Artificial Intelligence, placing her among just 1,500 people selected globally from a platform of nearly one billion users, a distinction that reflects both the reach and the substance of her commentary on emerging technology.

As a subject matter expert spanning emerging technology and modern leadership, Amanda has lent her insights to a wide range of organisations, including Commonwealth Bank, the Australian Property Institute, YPO, Zoom, the Australian Digital Health Agency, Allianz, Kellogg’s, Stanford, Optus and Google Cloud, among many others, while also building a social audio following of 300,000 subscribers that reaches tens of millions of listeners with content on emerging technology trends.

Before her technology career, Amanda spent more than two decades as an award-winning entrepreneur, co-founding the retail chain Sebachi in Tasmania at just 17 years old under the mentorship of Cotton On founder Nigel Austin, growing it into one of Australia’s first e-commerce stores in the early 2000s. Her commitment to social issues runs equally deep: she became Australia’s first Youth Development Officer at 18 with the West Tamar Council, and later spent fifteen years in philanthropic roles supporting a youth suicide prevention retreat in Tasmania.

Amanda’s own experiences with suicide inspired her to develop the mental health app Be A Looper alongside proprietary EmotionAI technology, work she now leads as Founding CEO of Transhuman, an AI and mental health technology company whose app has supported people across more than 87 countries. Based in Sydney, Amanda Johnstone is available for international keynote engagements on AI, leadership and technology for social good.
