Description
Dr Kate Leeming motivational speaker: book her for your next event
Dr Kate Leeming motivational speaker sessions come from three decades of world-first cycling expeditions across every continent on Earth. In fact, she has covered more than 106,000 kilometres in the saddle, a distance equivalent to circling the globe more than two and a half times. In 2023, she was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia for services to adventure sport. This added to earlier recognition, including the Australian Geographic Society’s Spirit of Adventure award.
Dr Kate Leeming motivational speaker background
In 2010, Kate became the first person to cycle an unbroken line from Africa’s most westerly point to its most easterly point. This was a 22,040-kilometre journey through twenty countries, designed to draw attention to the causes and effects of extreme poverty. Earlier in her career, she also rode 13,400 kilometres across the newly formed Russia. As a result, she became the first woman to complete that crossing unsupported. Later, she added a 25,000-kilometre expedition across Australia, which included the first female crossing of the Canning Stock Route.
More recently, 2023 saw Kate undertake two further fatbike expeditions: one across Antarctica’s Queen Maud Land, and another spanning 8,617 kilometres from Australia’s Cape Byron to Steep Point. In August 2025, she followed this with a 9,000-kilometre ride through Central Asia, from Kyrgyzstan to Afghanistan. Throughout, Kate has paired her physical feats with an educational and humanitarian purpose, authoring two books and producing award-winning film and television projects shown around the world.
